Reflections of a Life Well-Lived
Yvonne Smith entered into eternal peace and was granted her heavenly wings on March 5, 2023. On May 23, 1955, God blessed the hearts and lives of Chester and Lillie Way Smith with the gift of Yvonne Smith (Lil Ma).
She grew up and attended school in Hancock County and graduated from Sparta High School in 1973. Yvonne joined Saint Galilee Baptist Church at an early age. Her journey began at 25 years old as she enlisted in the United States Army where she served her country for 33 years, 8 months. She retired in 2015 as a Master Sergeant. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, swimming, crafts, working on special projects, and spending time with family.
On August, 29, 1998, Yvonne entered into holy matrimony to Charlie Hall. She received a college degree in administration.
One brother (Charlie Edward Smith) and one sister (Brenda Jean Smith) proceeded Yvonne in death.
Survivors include: her husband, Charlie Hall; one son, Kawaski Smith; one grandchild, Ayanna Monet Smith; stepmother, Polly Smith; one stepson, Charles Hall (Keshia); two stepdaughters, Angela and Sarina; six step-grandchildren; siblings, Catherine Chappel, General Gordon Smith, Eloise Clayton (Bennie), Joan Barksdale, Linda Cobb (Roosevelt), and Louise McCorkle; one stepsister, Sallie Clayton; sisters-in-law, Glenna Smith and Dorothy Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
