Yolanda Anderson

Yolanda Tereon Anderson was born on May 20, 1964, to James Elder and Cythia Louise Elder in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed her education at Spelman College and was employed by Atlanta Public Schools. On December 21, 1986, she married the love of her life, Glenn Anderson. They had two children, Shenique Anderson and Sherice Anderson.

She began her journey home on November 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her sister and father, Shevella Elder and James Elder.

Yolanda had a kind and loving heart. She was a caring mother, sister, daughter, and fervent educator. She worked tirelessly to educate and mold younger generations. She received “Teacher of the Year” on two occasions. She loved to garden, dance, travel, and cook.

Her memories will live on in the lives of: her loving husband, Glenn Anderson; daughters, Shenique Anderson and Sherice Anderson; mother, Cynthia Elder; sister, Pamela Emanuel; father and mother-in-law, Lonnie and Gladys Anderson; son-inlaw, Roy Wesley; nieces, Shantika Emmanuel-Penny, Sherea Emanuel, and Nyquitta Emanuel; brother and sister-in-laws, aunts and uncles, a host of nephews and nieces and many other loved ones.
