Wylene Kendrick Charleston was born on December 28, 1945, in Sparta, Georgia. She was the first child of the late Curtis Kendrick and Eufaula Kendrick Andrews. She was educated in the Hancock County public school system. Wylene was a lifelong resident of Hancock County. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Wylene was a diligent and dedicated worker. She was employed with Rheem Manufacturing Company for over 20 years until retirement.
She was married to the late James Charleston for 54 years. Wylene was an outspoken, caring, kind, and loving person. She enjoyed making others laugh and spend time with her family and friends. To know her was to absolutely love her as she did in return.
Wylene departed this life on Saturday, September 3, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael, and one brother, Emetrius Kendrick. Her memories will be cherished by her children, Carolyn Campbell (Phillip), Curtis Charleston (Debbie), and Stevie Charleston (Tarneisha); four sisters, Rolene Kerr, Regina Bundrage (Daniel), Shirley Kendrick, and Shelia Pittman; two brothers, Grady Kendrick (Louise) and Glenn Kendrick; one aunt, Dorothy Harris; sisters and brothers-in-law, George Charleston (Vivian), Grady Charleston (Pauline), Larry Charleston, Eddie Lee Clark (Vicky), Katie Chapple, Abbie Parham, Roberta Matthews, Annie Mae Chapple, and Elma Nash Harper; grandchildren, Philip (LaShai), Ashley, Darius, and Jonathan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and devoted cousin, Annette Lawrence, who will miss her dearly.
