Willie Bernard Kemp, Jr., was born March 13, 1945, in Warren County, Georgia, to the late Wille Bernard Kemp, Sr., and Daisy Long Kemp. Willie departed this life for eternal gain on November 29, 2022.
Willie joined Thankful Baptist Church at the “appointed time,” and he served faithfully as an usher, a deacon, and as part of the groudsmen staff. Willie was the first black man to transport beverages for Coca Cola Bottling Company. Willie served in this position for over nine years. Willie continued to set additional first-time successes during his more than nineteen-year career at Kingsley Plant – Milliken & Company. Willie retired early but found working and being among other working individuals within his community more satisfying. As a result, Willie worked in his community several years after retirement.
Willie has entered eternal rest with the Almighty. He goes to join his brothers, Robert Long and Albert Kemp, and his sisters, Daisy Mae Kemp, and Bobby Jean Kemp of Jewell, Georgia.
Willie was united in holy matrimony to Linda Darnell Reese in 1963.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories: seven children, Gail Williams, Debra Kemp, Jacqueline Cox, Brenda Kemp, Shomaneeka Turner, Willie Kemp III, all of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tyrone Duggans of Sparta, Georgia, who has a loving mother and is a devoted friend to Willie Ruthie Duggans of Sparta, Georgia; and one son-in-law, Gregory Cox of Thomson, Georgia; one remaining devoted brother, Milton Kemp; one remaining devoted sister-in-law, Jerry Dean Kemp, both of Jewell, Georgia; an abundance of offspring spanning four generations of grandkids; and a loving host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
