Wallace “Handy Man” Cobb was born on February 9, 1953, to the late Read L. Cobb, Sr., and Willie Bell Stembridge Cobb. He departed this life on July 27, 2024, at Putnam General Hospital. He was a 1971 graduate of Hancock Central High School.
He was an avid fisherman and a master brick mason. He loved to tell jokes and make everyone laugh. He was the master griller for our family and friends’ day. He would say, “You ain’t never had a BBQ like Handy cook it.” He would always brag about his cooking skills.
His parents and two brothers, Read L. Cobbs, Jr., and Jimmy Lee Stembridge, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Penny Taylor Cobbs; two sons, Terrence Cobbs of Atlanta, GA, and Terrian (Tequila) Cobbs of Covington, GA; grandson, Trevion Saulsberry of Milledgeville, GA; two brothers, Larry Cobbs of Monticello, GA, and Linton “Pootang” Cobbs of Sparta, GA; four sisters, Mildred Foster, Hazel Cobbs, Shelia R. Cobbs, and Sandy M. Cobbs, all of Sparta, GA; two brothers-in-law, Sammy (Yolanda) Taylor of Eatonton, GA, and Randy (Nancy) Taylor of Sparta, GA; A special niece, Nastassia Cobbs; A special sister-in-law Shirley C. Walker and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends. He always had fun with them. Rest in peace, Wallace, until we meet again.
