Our Beautiful Sonya

Ms. Sonya Matheny of Sparta, Georgia was born in McDuffie County, Thomson, Georgia on December 18, 1955 to Eileen Wheeler Matheny and Fredrick O. Matheny, both preceded her in death.

She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Shaun Murphy and her brother, James (Jimmy) Woodruff.

Sonya’s memory will be cherished by two children, Donald R. Murphy and Tonya L. Murphy, her grandchildren and a great grandchild; her brother, Freddy Matheny, her loving sister, Vera K. Stewart and James P. Woodruff, who was just like a son to her, also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We all love her and will greatly miss her.
