Life Obituary

Mrs. Shirley Mae Lundy, affectionately known as “Lil Shirley” was born in Sparta, Georgia to the late Ralph and Ida Mae Chester.

Shirley was married to the late Marvin Lundy and to this union, three lovely princesses were born, Empress, Nicole, and Keya.

She was best known as a wife, mother, grandmother, most recently great grandmother. She was loved by everyone she knew. She had the biggest heart and devoted her life to taking care of her children and grandchildren. After working various jobs, she decided to stop working and take care of her family.

Shirley had many passions, she enjoyed cooking and she always dreamed of opening her own restaurant.  She was fond of cats and dogs. Like Dr. Seuss, she wanted them in the house, outside the house, she wanted them here/ there/everywhere. She often feed the stray cats and dogs in the neighborhood. Some of her other passion, was picking apples in North Georgia, and oranges in Florida. Her other hobbies included her love for yard work, growing plants and writing music. If you know Shirley, you knew NOT to touch her stuff. She accumulated enough items to open multiple stores. Shirley was one of a kind, truly like no other.

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ralph and Ida Chester; brothers, Douglas Justice (Shirley Justice), Sparta, Georgia, and BJ. Justice (Emma Mae Justice), Sparta, Georgia, and sister, Betty Jean Dixon (Willie Dixon), Sparta, Georgia. She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Empress Lundy – Ivey (Stacy Ivey), Warrenton, Georgia, Nicole Hodo (Arthur Hodo), Conyers, Georgia, Keya Lundy- Nimeskern (Steven Nimeskern), Milledgeville, Georgia nine grandchildren, Meosha Lundy- Hodo (Jon Tyler Shaw), Conyers, Georgia, Ja”Tavious Lundy (Tytiyana Clanton), Grovetown, Georgia, Miaya Lundy, Carrollton, Georgia, Keyona Lundy (Willie Williams), Kennesaw, Georgia, Alexis Lundy (Cleetavias Salters), Milledgeville Georgia, Lakiya Lundy, Milledgeville, Georgia, Atiya Hodo, Conyers, Georgia, India Ivey, Warrenton , Georgia, Nik’e Lundy, Milledgeville Georgia, three great grandchildren, Airella Wiliams, Kennesaw, Georgia, Passion Williams, Warrenton, Georgia, Zynovia Salter, Milledgeville, Georgia; two sisters, Willie Mae Reaves (Kenneth Reaves), Sparta, Georgia, Louise Clark (Bennie Clark), Sparta, Georgia; one brother: Charlie L. Chester (Carrie Hall) and a host of sisters-n-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
