Shermeka Tarneisha Dickson was born on April 17, 1977, in Augusta, Georgia, to Ms. Elaine Robinson. Shermeka was the second oldest. She was preceded in death by her brother, Marcus Dickson.
Shermeka attended Hancock Central High School and was Class of 1996. After high school, she pursued a career in customer service. She then became a hiring manager for McDonald's while working part-time at Amazon. Shermeka took particular joy in being a mother and grandmother. She had fond memories of being an army and wrestling mom throughout her children’s careers and recreational activities. Her passion was spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included shopping, crossword puzzles, drawing, and collecting purses and shoes. Shermeka was known for being very outspoken but kind and genuine. She always found ways to help those in need.
Shermeka’s love and legacy will live on through her beloved children, daughter Brianna Alexander; sons; Tikyus Dickson, Malcolm Yarber; and grandchildren, Dylan, Peyton, and Grayson Smith. Her loving siblings will also cherish her life’s memories: sisters Renota (Rodney) Robinson, Teka Dickson, Sherjetta Shelton, Carmishia Primus, Roxzie Broadus, and Chasity (Dontrel) Pinkston; brother, Carlos Dickson: Aunties, Bernice (Michael)Williams, Deda Dickson, and Sanjanetta (James) Butts, as well as a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Shermeka’s caring heart, giving spirit, and cheerful spirit will be missed. She will forever be in our hearts. She always would say seeing her children accomplish their dreams made her life better, and they felt the love and support she provided for them.
