Saketiah Monique Smith, daughter of Jesse Hatcher and Gail Smith, was born September2, 1981 in Alabama on a US Army Installation. She peacefully entered rest while surrounded by loved ones on April 18, 2023.
Mo, as she was affectionately called, attended the Hancock County School System. She later continued her education at attain a Graduate Degree. Recently, Mo served as a school administrator in the Dekalb County School Systems. During her time in the school system, she served as a basketball coach, track and field coach and soccer coach. Because of her athleticism and love of sports, she also played in leisure sports. Her most recent team was the Arsenal Football Team.
Mo was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie “Watt” Hatcher.
Mo gave birth to a son, Mekhi McLean. From childbirth, a very strong bod was established in which Mo became the object of tremendous love and affection for Mekhi.
Mo leaves to cherish her memory: parents, Jesse (Geraldine) Hatcher and Gail Smith: son, Mekhi McLean; sisters, Chiquita Hatcher, Pamela Hatcher- Ingram, Ramonda (Jermaine) Talmadge, Keneesha Anderson, and Janeesha (Jesse) Brookins; a god son: Khaliff Moaney, faithful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
