Rosa Eva Primus Bolton, was born May 1, 1957 in Sparta, GA as the first born of six children to the late Levi & Fannie Mae Primus. She was affectionately known as “Rose” to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Terry Lorenzo Primus, Sr.
Rosa was a beloved mother to 2 children, Sonja Bolton-Moore and Antonio Bolton, of Atlanta, GA were her pride and joy. She always said seeing her children accomplish their dreams made her life better, and they felt that in the love and support she provided to them.
Rosa was a graduate of the Hancock Central High School of 1975. She continued her education at North Georgia Technical College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration. After college, she went on to pursue a career with Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company for 12yrs before adventuring to Specialty Risk Services for 7yrs. She had early retirement of 15yrs with Kroger.
Rosa was a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist church in Atlanta, GA under the leadership of Reverend Aaron L. Parker, Ph.D. where she served as a leader in Zion Hill Youth League for Christ. In returning, back her home to Sparta, GA she was a member of Stanton Grove Baptist, under the leadership of Reverend Elijah Barnes, Sr.
Rosa took special joy in being a mother and grandmother. She had fond memories of being a cheer-mom and band mom. Her passion was spending time with her grandkids and family, taking trips with family and friends, and shopping. Some of her hobbies included collecting clowns and elephants and playing the lottery. During her free time, she loved to read, going to Atlanta Falcon football games and tailgating, and having some sister-time with Shirley Tucker attending Country Living fair.
Rosa was known as “Boss Lady” from her family where she encouraged them to get an education, live your best life, and trust in God. She was very out-spoken, everyone knew what came up, came out when they talked with her. She was known by the fashionable outfits she wore.
Rosa’s love and legacy will live on through her beloved daughter Sonja (Tyron) Moore, son Antonio (Shevawn) Bolton, grandchildren Nicholas and Taylor Moore, and her husband Robert Bolton of 20yrs. (Atlanta, GA)
Her life’s memories will also be cherished by her loving siblings: sister Shirley Tucker, three brothers, Marlin Primus, Kenneth (Patricia) Primus, Tomlyn (Angela) Primus (Sparta, GA) and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosa’s companionship with Leroy Parks of 11yrs will always be remembered.
On October 23, 2024, God peacefully called his child home. Rosa’s caring heart, giving spirit, and feistiness will greatly be missed. She will forever be in our hearts.
