Patricia Williams Obituary

Patricia Rose Williams, lovingly known as Pat,” “Trish,” “Sister Pat,” “Sam’s Girl,” and “Ma, led a life rich in faith, family, and community. Her journey from a proud native of Sparta, Georgia, to a devoted mother, wife, and community leader leaves behind a legacy that reflects the love and joy she gave to those around her.

From a young age, Pat's faith was a guiding light, and her acceptance of Christ was the foundation for everything that followed. Even her time spent in New York, where she reveled in the fun of Coney Island and double dutch with friends, didn’t stray her from the values she held dear. Returning to Sparta to complete her education at Hancock Central High School in 1968, she became known for her typing skills and for her active participation in the chorus, a testament to her love for music—a love she would carry throughout her life.

Her career journey began early at Eatonton Manufacturing, and through her hard work and determination, Pat became a supervisor at Heath Tech in Warrenton. Her natural talent for sewing blossomed during this time, further highlighting her creative spirit. Her professional life culminated in a 22-year tenure at Triumph, where she worked as a lead mechanic and trainer—a role that reflected her dedication and strong work ethic.

But it was in her family and faith that Pat truly shone. Meeting Tony Williams in 1970, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and three children. Their nearly 50 years of marriage were built on mutual respect, affection, and shared experiences. Together, they raised their family while Pat's devotion to her church, New Beulah Baptist and Green Springs Church, enriched the community. Her leadership of the Brown Chapel Gospel Choir reflected her love for music and her desire to share that joy with others.

Even after retiring from her career at Triumph, Pat continued to find fulfillment in life’s simple pleasures—traveling, cooking, sewing, and of course, spending quality time with her family. She embraced the joy of cruising in the 1990’s, visiting new countries, and finding joy in her favorite shows like *The Little Johnsons* and *Mama June.* Her love of blue and the sweetness of black walnut ice cream added extra touches to the life she lived with such zest.

Pat’s warmth and wit made her a cherished figure in her family and community. Her catchphrases, like “Hey girl…” and “I’m wiping hands…” will forever be fond memories for those lucky enough to know her. Pat will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who loved her, a reminder of the beauty of a life lived in faith, service, and love.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tony Williams; her son, Michael Clark, three sisters, and three brothers.

She leaves behind cherished memories with her children, Sherrie Williams and Sherrod Williams, bonus daughters, Latasha Williams and Sheila Culver; bonus son, Dontaye (Karen) Clarke; goddaughters, Sanquita Palmer, and Ashley (Carnell) Robertson; godson, Ty Flicklin; Aunt, Ethel Bundrage; two fur babies, Maddox and Rocky; siblings, Willie Mae (Marvin) Leslie, Charlene Stanton, Floyd (Belinda) Lamar, William Lamar, Sammie Lamar; Alisa Ross, Charles (Sharee) Clark, Eugene Lamar, and Dennis Lamar; four grandchildren, Jawuan (Rasha) Robbins, Samantha (Roosevelt) Mims, Kamalar Williams, and Lyric Williams; four great-grandchildren, Chyna, Langston, Aria, and Raina; best friends, Peggy Farley and Emma Kate; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
