Celebration of Life
The world lost a bright light, and we lost our guiding star. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished sister and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 62. Runette Gibson was born on December 1st, 1963, to the late Jimmy and Catherine Gibson. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, then relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
She was known for being the life of the party. She had a way of making her presence known and felt.
Our loving mother had a passion for dogs. Her smile brought comfort, her words brought encouragement, and her love brought peace. She was our pillar of strength. As a mother she was our biggest champion. Her selflessness knew no bounds, and the life lessons she instilled in us will continue to guide us every single day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Bridget Black, five sisters Brenda McGee, Easter Gibson, Linda Gibson, Jeanette Gibson, Janice Gibson, two brothers Jimmy Gibson (Louvenia) and Randy Gibson (Caroline) and half-brother Troy Mills, and grand-dog Max.
She is also survived by her sister Lillie Gibson (Frank) of Sparta, Georgia. Runette's legacy lives on through her children; Reynolds Black of Decatur, Georgia, Marquite Black, Kimberly Black Brown (Montavious)Jermaine Black and Monique Gibson all of Sparta Georgia; her three grandchildren Makayla Leslie, Montavious Brown Jr., Jamari Brown and one great grandson, Kayden Brown. Also her beloved grand-dogs, Levi, Rocky, Karter and Screwface. Runette cherished a host of nieces, nephew's friends and other relatives who will forever hold her close in their hearts. The gift of your love is something we will cherish forever. Gone from sight, never from our hearts.
