A Celebration of Life
Mrs. MARION LILLY LAWSON was born on September 18, 1931, in Warrenton, Georgia to the late Emma Lou Gilliam and Henry Gilliam. She received her education from the Warren County school system.
On October 3, 1948, Marion married Willie Lee Lawson. This union was blessed with two children, Jimmie Lee Lawson and Janice Lawson.
Marion worked a plethora of jobs from housekeeping to factory jobs before moving back home to her hometown in Warrenton, Georgia. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marion loved to attend church and praise the good Lord. (As she would say, “The good Lord take care of me.”) She also enjoyed going to the senior citizen center until she was no longer able to attend. She loved chewing her tobacco, watching Steve Harvey, and eating her sweets.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Lawson; parents, Emma Lou Gilliam and Henry Gilliam; sisters, Helen Glover and Edith Gilliam Hill; brother, Henry Gilliam, Jr.; and granddaughter, Felicia Ann Lawson.
Her memories will be cherished by her loving children, son, Jimmie Lawson (daughter-in-law, Kim Lawson) of NY, and daughter, Janice Lawson-Greene (son-in-law, Handy Greene) of GA; sister, Earnestine Jackson (brother-in-law, Andrew Jackson) of NY; grandchildren, Darrell Lawson, Keisha Tyler (grandson-in-law, Raheem Tyler), James Key, Johnny Lawson, Jessica Thomas, and Jimmie Thomas; great-grandchildren, Donnell Talley, Shatyqua Bradshaw, Kaheem Lawson, Darrell Bell, Javante Lawson, and Rahmel Tyler; and a plethora of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
