Mrs. Mable Hanson

On May 6, 2021, she heard the Master’s voice say, “Come home.” Mrs. Mable Wilson Hanson, the daughter of Jess and Emma Wilson, was born November 1, 1929, in Norwood, Georgia.

Mrs. Hanson committed her life to Christ at an early age. She loved her church and was an outstanding lifetime member of Greenwood Baptist Church, serving in many capacities and roles. She was the matriarch of a family she loved dearly—a family who loved her beyond measure. She also loved her community and was always ready to assist anyone she could, in any way she could. In return, she was also loved and respected by her community.

Her husband of seventy years, Mr. Jimmie Lee, two sons, James and Eugene, and a daughter, Ernestine, preceded her in death.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: five children, Bernice (Ray) Bradford of Augusta, GA, Shirley (Ricky) Hill of Warrenton, GA, Jesse (Cassandra) Hanson of Norwood, GA, Arlene (Ottis) Deal of Decatur, GA, and Mamie Hanson of Lithonia, GA; ten grandchildren; seventeen greatgrandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
