Her Life’s Story
Mrs. Lillie Bell Stembridge was born in Sparta, Georgia, on March 5, 1946, to the parentage of the late Mr. Dee and Mrs. Anna Lou Watkins. She was a graduate of Hancock Central High School. She was reared in Hancock County, and as an adult, she held jobs as a seamstress and a certified nursing assistant. Lillie was baptized at an early age, and later in life, she accepted the call to ministry.
On Wednesday, June 24th, God spoke in a still, small voice and said, “Come home to rest, my good and faithful servant.” Lillie was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Lillie’s memories will be cherished by her husband: Winston Stembridge of Sparta, GA; three sons: John (Darrick) Stembridge of College Park, GA, Derick (Kesia) Stembridge of Sparta, GA, and Ernest (Bonita) Stembridge of Tucson, AZ; one daughter: Teressa Stembridge of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren: Jelisa Stembridge, Javian Stembridge, Kyla Stembridge, Davion Stembridge, Leza Stembridge, Kiara Stembridge, Arabella Stembridge and Rene Stembridge; two brothers: Floyd (Denise) Watkins of Bradenton, FL, and Charlie (Betty) Watkins of Eatonton, GA; three sisters: Katie Warren of Belle Glade, FL, Gladys Chatman of Sparta, GA, and Betty Watkins of Bradenton, FL; and a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends.
