I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7
Willie L. Kitchens, better known as “Peter”, was born on August 16, 1944, in Hancock County, Georgia, to the late William T. Kitchens and Rosia M. Warthen Kitchens. “Peter” was the second child of eight. William Kitchens, Jr., Napolean Kitchens, Sr., Rosa L. Kitchens-Cummings, Frank Kitchens, Sr., and Annie L. Kitchens preceded him in death.
“Peter” was educated in the Hancock County School System. Later, in his young adulthood, he met and married the late Daisy McCullers. They moved and lived in Atlanta, Georgia, where he became a Production Worker for over thirty years.
“Peter” joined Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, under the leadership of Rev. Edwards.
“Peter” had many talents; he loved cooking, fishing, watching the Atlanta Falcons, and listening to the radio.
Shortly after midnight on March 31, 2021, God called his beloved son home. He leaves to cherish his memories: a niece whom he reared as a daughter, Kimberly M. Cummings of Columbia County, Georgia; two nephews reared as sons, Curtis L. Cummings, Jr., and Marcus D. Cummings, both of Milledgeville, Georgia; two sisters, Nancy R. Barksdale of Sparta, Georgia, and Lillie M. (Jacko) Daniel of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
