Mr. Philemon Nelson Sr, was born April 20, 1935 to the late UL Anderson and the late Florine Nelson.
He accepted Christ into his life at an early age. He lived out his salvation well. He served last as a Trustee at Jones Chapel AME Church faithfully and he was no stranger to any church family that he visited. He was well known for starting devotion and his powerful prayer life. Some of his educational training took place at Jones Chapel church during his early life.
Philemon married Willie Mae Harper on February 11, 1961, the daughter of the late Liss and Mattie Harper. Out of their union they raised three sons, Philemon Nelson Jr, David Leon Nelson and Earnest Nelson Sr.
Some of his work history was for the late Earnest and Ruth Lowe, Georgia Pacific, J&M Trucking, the Sparta furniture factory and he retired from Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia.
After retiring he continued doing lawn care work for so many in his neighborhood and surrounding counties. No one but The Lord really knows how much grass he really manicured. See The Gospel of Luke 12: 7 for added insight.
On January 26, 2025, Philemon departed this physical life and entered into eternity.
