Reflection of Life
Mr. Michael Wilson also known as “Mike” entered eternal rest on July 20, 2020. He was born on June 26, 1952 in Mayfield, GA to the late Horace & Lillie Mae Wilson. He accepted Christ at an early age at New Hope Powelton Baptist Church.
Mike attended Hancock Central High School in Hancock County. He served as the assistant secretary on the Trustees’ board at New Hope Powelton. He worked faithfully until his health failed.
Mike’s passion was fishing and fixing cars. He could take a car apart and put it back together in no time. Mike was a “top notch” chef when it came to grilling and frying some delicious fish. He was famous for his secret sauce; we would always ask for the recipe and his words would jokingly be “if I tell you, I will have to kill you”. Mike was one of a kind and worked well with his hands. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charlie Wilson, and son-in-law, William Harris. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 28 years, Joann Wilson; his children, Elizabeth Walters, Lakeshia Horne, Cassandra (Tory) Butts, Chentina Harris, Torico (Nikia) Wilson, Pochitta Wilson, Shonte (Chris) Ross, Tomika (Bryant) Heath, Mickey Heath; two sisters, Diane (Leon) Mapp and Shirley (Charles) Bly; four brothers-in-law, Willie (Michelle) Moss, Thomas Moss, Robert Moss, and Casey Moss, Sr.; one aunt, Annie Mae Wilson; one uncle. Arthur Oliver; twenty-four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
