Marshall Wilson was born on March 17, 1951, in Sparta, Georgia to the parentage of the late Deacon Alfred Wilson and Ruby Jones Wilson. He was the eleventh child of fourteen, born to the union. He was known affectionately by his siblings as “Huckleberry” and “Trell”. Marshall was educated in the Hancock County School System of Hancock County and spent the entirety of his blessed life in Sparta. He attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church with his family and gave his life to Jesus Christ at a young age. He later joined St. Galilee Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. One of his favorite past times was watching television, where he often watched his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins. He worked for years at the Sparta Furniture Manufacturing Company, and was later employed with Advanced Auto Parts in Thomson, Georgia, before his health began to decline.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Alfred and Ruby Wilson, his daughter Pamela Lazenby, two sisters Frances and Sara Lue Wilson and four brothers, Carl, Sammie, Roy and Ray Gene Wilson.
He leaves to cherish the memories of his beautiful spirit, a wife of 32 years Mrs. Lillie Mae Taylor Wilson of Sparta, Georgia; daughters Ayanna Wilson of Tucker, Georgia, Takiya Wilson of Sparta, Georgia, Kiyanna Wilson of Carrollton, Georgia; five grandchildren, Keyshawn James and Karter Wilson of Sparta, Georgia, Brittany Lazenby and Mia Jennings of Thomson, Georgia, Javoias Lazenby of Virginia Beach, Virginia; five great grand-children of Thomson, Georgia; one sister Florence Edwards of Sparta, Georgia; four brothers, Alfred Wilson, Sr. and Larry Wilson of Atlanta, Charlie (Mary) Wilson of Augusta, Georgia, Randolph (Jacqueline) Wilson of Conyers, Georgia; mother-in-law, Willie Mae Taylor of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; four sisters-in-law, Inell Wilson of Athens, Georgia, Linda (Joseph, Sr.) Thomas, Barbara Taylor, Cathy Taylor all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, three brothers-in-law Roy Taylor, Gerald Taylor, Terry Taylor all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
