Lorrainea Yvette Gibbons was born July 7, 1960 in Augusta, Georgia to Mary Alice Wilson-Gibbons and the late Luther Gibbons.
She came to Brooklyn, New York as a young child where she attended Public School 11 and Special Programs at New York University.
She was baptized on April 7, 2013 and became a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Brooklyn under the interim pastorate of the late Reverend Dr. Jasper E. Peyton.
Lorrainea was gifted with a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing. Her favorite song to sing was “One Last Bell to Answer” by the Fifth Dimension. She participated in numerous singing contests in Brooklyn, including the well-known Annual Soul Sunday Parade which provided musical entertainment throughout the local community. Lorrainea also loved listening to music on CDs and over the years collected an extensive library of videos, CDs, and DVDs.
As a youth, she was one of the original members of the Vannguard Youth Program, sponsored by New York assemblyman Albert Vann, which actively engaged young people in activities that improved their own communities. Lorrainea loved her family, dearly. She was kindhearted, generous, and always wanted to give gifts even if it was not Christmas, loved to play Bingo and especially enjoyed her visits home to Georgia during the summer months.

(Marjorie) Wilson, Sr.; cousins, Melody Wilson-Jones, Ronald Jones, Jr., Niketris Wilson, Dr. Walter E.
