Lillie P. Lawrence

Lillie P. Lawrence was born on November 24, 1963, in Sparta, GA. She attended the Hancock County Public School system and graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1981. She chose Vorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina, for higher education. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age, but grew a thriving relationship with Him as life’s challenges assured her she needed Him as her anchor.  

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents – Roy and Mattie (Stanton) Lawrence; a brother, Leroy Lawrence; and nephew Quinton Jones.

She will be forever cherished in the memory banks of her six surviving siblings; brothers Curtis (Darlene) Lawrence of Fayetteville, NC; William Henry (Marcia) Lawrence of Fayetteville, GA; and David (Veronica) Lawrence of Augusta, GA.  Sisters – Barbara Mapp of Winterville, GA; Becky Lawrence of Sparta, GA and Stacy Lawrence of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Although she had no children of her own, her 13 nephews and nieces looked upon her as a surrogate mother and will miss her dearly:  Mark Adams, Vernon Lundy, Markina Owens, Antario Wilson, Surece Nunnally, Ronrico Woodard, Crystal Woodard, Joy Mapp, Jason Lawrence, Andrea Allen, Jerine Campbell, Ylana Aukamp, and Malik Campbell. 

Her many cousins, classmates, coworkers, and friends will also remember her in kind.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that you donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in support of the continued fight for early detection, treatment, and eradication of breast cancer.

Services and Interment will be private.
