Mr. Leroy James Hunt was born February 3, 1954, in Sparta, GA. He was the fifth child born to Clarence and Mollie Hunt.
“Bestfriend” as he was affectionately known by his granddaughter, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and he had the most loving personality to everyone he encountered.
He joined St. Mark A.M.E. Church at an early age.
He loved his family, cutting grass, cracking jokes, riding around with his dog, Gracie, playing with his grandkids, and sitting on his porch. He was an alumnus of Hancock Central High School where he graduated with the class of 1973. Leroy was a faithful and dedicated employee of CSX Railroad for 35 years until his retirement in March of 2014.
Leroy was united in holy matrimony to Sandra Lawrence on June 23, 1973. On this day, two families became one.
Our Heavenly father called his soldier, Leroy, home on April 22, 2022. He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Nakesha-Hunt Horton, mother and father, Clarence and Mollie Hunt, sister, Carolyn Hunt, and nephew, Lintavius Latimore.
