Laurie Lynn (Boyd) Mitchell

In loving memory of Ms. Laurie Lynn Boyd Mitchell, of Warrenton, Georgia, transitioned on October 8, 2024.

Laurie Lynn Boyd-Mitchell, 63, of Thomson, GA, departed this life on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Warrenton Nursing Home in Warrenton, GA. Born in Berlin, she was the daughter of Shirley Thomas Boyd and the late Leonard J. Boyd.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Boyd-Mitchell was a nurse.

In addition to her mother, she will be lovingly remembered by: her husband, Wayland Mitchell, Sr.; two children, Wayland Mitchell, Jr. (Natasha) and Waylanda Mitchell; two sisters, Teresa L. Boyd and Darlene Boyd Simpson; a godchild whom she raised, Sierra Jackson (Talvird); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by two children, Leniun T. Boyd and JaMaal Mitchell.

Mrs. Boyd-Mitchell will lie in repose on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM at Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 124 Wilson Street, Salisbury. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park, Inc., West Road, Salisbury.
