Kimberly "Money" Montresa Barnes

Kimberly Montresa Barnes was born on March 9, 1989 in Augusta, GA to Reginald Shivers and the late Katina Barnes. She was affectionately known as "Money." She attended Hancock County Schools where she quickly developed a love for sports. She was a part of the basketball , softball, and track and field teams.

Upon graduating high school in 2008, Kimberly went to Gordon State University on a basketball scholarship. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she decided to return home where she became employed at Central State Hospital, Wal-Mart, and Zaxby's all located in Milledgeville, GA. In 2011, Kimberly became employed with Hancock State Prison as a correctional officer while still working part-time at Zaxby's.

Kimberly was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Kyler. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. She also loved driving sports cars, riding her motorcycle, spending time at the gun range, and listening to Old School and R & B music.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her mother, Katina Barnes, and grandparents, James Mason, Eunice Barnes and Dorothy Shivers.

To cherish her memories, Kimberly leaves behind her daughter, Kyler Amia Barnes, of Sparta, GA; father, Reginald Shivers, of Sparta, GA; godson, Karter, of Sparta, GA); siblings, Valissa (Miltarez) Trawick of Sparta, GA, Jacobe Barnes, Jontarius Stanton, Kaydence Shivers, and Reginald Shivers, Jr. all of Milledgeville, GA; motherlike aunts, Ree Barnes of Sparta, GA and Gwinett (Steve) Bates of College Park, GA; motherlike best friend, Amy Stanton, of Sparta, GA; nephews, Tristyn, Tayden, Miltarez, Jr., Jontarius, Jr., and Javen; close family and friends, Qua'nise, D.D. T.J., Britney and Kyah; devoted friend, Michael Ransom; and a host of other family and friends.
