Karen Grier Obituary

A Celebration of Life

On October 29th, 1987, the world was blessed by the arrival of Karen. She was born to the proud parents of Mr. Darren Grier and the late Mrs. Rogelia Camacho-Palacios. After completing her part of His great plan, the Lord received Karen into eternal rest on June 23rd, 2026.

Karen spent her early years in southern California (San Diego) before moving to Sparta, Georgia in early 1995 where she was enrolled in primary school. Karen and her siblings were primarily raised by their grandmother, the late Mrs. Rosie Mae Grier, whom they affectionately called Big Mama. And because Big Mama was a follower of Jesus Christ, Karen and her siblings were raised in the church. She became an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the pastorship of Rev. L.T. Crawford where she was a member of the youth choir as well as a regular bible study attendee.

She later attended Hancock Central High School where she had a close-knit group of friends to which she remained connected. While attending HCHS, she was an active member of the band as well as the JROTC. She graduated with the Class of 2006. Karen eventually went on to spend several years in both the Spring Lake, NC and the southern Texas area, all the while championing all the endeavors of her family and friends as well as being the best “Auntie K” her nieces and nephews could ever dream of. She loved hard and we all felt it.

Karen leaves to cherish her loving memory her father, Darren (Jackie) Grier of Edinburg, TX, brothers Moses (Alex) Grier of Abilene, TX and Johnathan (Alma) Grier of Donna, TX, sisters Cynthia Grier of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, Jessica (Luckenson) Grier of Fayetteville, NC and Sophia Grier of Springlake, NC; uncles Andrew Grier of Macon, GA and James C Williams of Sparta, GA; aunts Rosario Camacho-Palacios of San Diego, CA and Stephanie Grier of Powder Springs, GA. Forever missing her are her nephews Santiago, Andreas and Jeriah; nieces Lauren, Lia, Mylah, Malani, Marlo, Delilah, Daisy and Monti.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends during this time of sorrow and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
