JOE ANN JACKSON                      

We are confident, I say and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

Joe Ann Jackson entered this life on March 22, 1953 in Hancock County, Sparta, GA to the late Miss Nettie Mae Jackson.  God called her to eternal life on January 18, 2017 in the peacefulness of her home.

Joe Ann was preceded in death by her Maternal grandmother Ms. Sarah Hill; two Aunts; Mrs. Viola Hart and Mrs. Lenoria Winkfield; two brothers; Mr. Ronnie Jackson and Mr. Linton Jackson.

Joe Ann was educated in the Hancock County School System. At an early age she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church and dedicated her life to Christ

Joe Ann enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with her family.  She was employed as a Dietary Aid/Supervisor at the Hancock Memorial and Retired from Hancock County Department of Corrections in Sparta, GA. She enjoyed serving others.

She leaves to celebrate her life one Son; Stetson Deron Birston (Yolanda) of Bishop, GA., one Daughter Shereshawa Birston of Sparta, GA.,

Four Grandchildren; Drevious Birston (Shereshawa), Adrian, Aaron, & Amorie (Stetson & Yolanda)

One Sister; Mrs. Berniece J. Smtih of Hampton, GA., one brother; Calvin Dunn of Decatur, GA., two aunts Ms. Georgia Brown and Mrs. Mattie Alston of Summerville, S.C. One Brother-in-law; Mr. James W. Smith of Sparta, GA. Seven nieces, Five nephews, and a host of cousins, close relatives and friends.

Funeral services entrusted to Dawson’s Mortuary – 98 Hopgood Street, Warrenton, GA.
