Jimmy Lee Carter

Mr. Jimmy L. Carter was called to meet our heavenly Father on March 23, 2022. He was born March 27, 1943, to the late Sam and Eva Lou Carter.

A native of Warrenton, GA, Jimmy attended Warren County public school and was a member of St. John AME Church in Norwood. He was employed by Uniroyal for over 30 years and the owner of Carter Groceries on Hall Street.

Jimmy was joined in holy matrimony to the late Ida Mae Thomas Carter for 54 years. To this union one daughter was born.

He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: his loving and devoted daughter, Kimberly A. Y. Carter, of Warrenton, GA; three brothers: James Carter of Coxsackie, NY; Louis Carter of Warrenton, GA and John W. Carter of Thomson, GA. Seven sisters-in-law: Mary L. Carter of Thomson, GA; Dorothy Turner of Graniteville, SC; Carolyn Parker and Shirley Parker of Camak, GA; Eloise (Ishmael) Shelton of Birmingham, AL, Sandra Kitchens of Mitchell, GA and Brenda Johnson of Warrenton, GA; one brother-in-law, Samuel Thomas, Jr of Sandersville, GA. He is preceded in death by brothers, Eddie B. Carter, Albert Carter and Arthur Lee Carter and sisters, Annie K. Wingfield, Susie K. Carter and Lois Jackson. Two grandchildren he helped raise, Shaikeveia and Zanae Jackson. Jimmy also leaves to behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends.
