Jimmie Dean Jones

Jimmie Dean Jones departed this Earth peacefully on February 2, 2020 at University Hospital in Thomson, GA.  He was born on March 16, 1964 to the late Linton ‘Doc’ Jones and Lucy Rebecca Shank Jones.  He was the seventh of eight kids.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elder Lenton Jones and Willie T. Jones, and one sister, Lucille Jones.  He graduated from Warren County High School in the class of 1983 as a member of the football team.  He loved the Lord and joined Bethel A.M.E Church at an early age and was a member of the youth choir.  He dedicated more than 16 years at Quebecor World (formerly known as World Color) where he worked up to Press Operator.  He was an avid sports fan, especially football and basketball, where he was loyal to The Atlanta Falcons and Golden State Warriors with Stephen Curry being his favorite player.  He loved to work-out and worked as a personal trainer for four years.  He loved to inspire children with sports, career goals and was a father figure to many.  He was a humble and gentle giant who had an even bigger heart.  He loved unconditionally and lived for his children and family.  He was the man you could call for uplifting encouragement or just to chat and lived by the motto to “Keep pressing on no matter what life throws at you”.  He lived his life to the fullest with strength, determination and will be missed dearly. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Anquanette Jones Casey (Donnell) of Charlotte, NC and son Arcephus Jones (Tinisha) and one grandson, Legend Jones of Augusta, GA; fiancée, Minister Angela McGahee and family of Thomson, GA; two brothers, Tony Curtis Jones (Dorothy) of Albany, GA and Rev. Rickey Jones of Norwood, GA; two sisters, Rosa Mae Berry (James) of Norwood, GA and Reanor Woods of Forest Park, GA; a special niece Lynetta Kendrick (Walter) of Warrenton, GA; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
