Ida Mae Carter

Mrs. Ida Mae Thomas Carter was called to meet our Heavenly Father on November 21, 2021. A native of Warrenton, Georgia, she was born August 25, 1946, to the late Sam and Cleosis Thomas. Ida Mae attended Warren County public school system and was a member of Trinity A.M.E church of Warrenton. She was employed by Uniroyal for over 20 years until the closure of the plant. After retirement, Ida Mae helped run the family business, Carter groceries on Hall St. Ida Mae was joined in holy matrimony to Jimmy Carter on August 26, 1967. To this union one daughter was born. 

Three brothers preceded Ida Mae in death: Willie C, Harold, and Norman Thomas.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories: her husband of 54 years, Jimmy Carter and her loving and devoted daughter, Kimberly Anne Yvette Carter, both of Warrenton GA; five sisters: Dorothy Turner, Graniteville SC, Carolyn Parker, and Shirley Parker of Camak GA, Eloise and (Ishmael) Shelton of Birmingham Alabama, Brenda Johnson of Warrenton GA, Sandra Kitchens of Mitchell Ga, And Samuel Thomas of Sandersville Ga. brother-in-law; Louis and John W. Carter of Warrenton, GA, James Carter of Coxsackie, New York, Arthur Lee Carter, off Atlanta, GA. sister-in-law Mrs. Mary Carter of Thomson GA. Ida Mae has two grands she helped raised, Shaikeveia and Zanae Jackson. With a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends.
