Henry James Davis was born on March 6, 1951, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Lillie Harper Davis. Henry accepted Christ at an early age and joined Powell Grove Baptist.
Henry was a hard worker and had many jobs in his lifetime. Henry worked at Sparta Trailer Plant, Griffin Pipe Co. in Milledgeville, GA, Georgia Power (Harlee Branch) in Milledgeville, GA, C. T. Harris in Sandersville, GA, Choo Choo Building Supply in Milledgeville, GA, and Sparta Healthcare in Sparta, GA, Georgia Pacific in Monticello, GA, for 22 years, Georgia Pacific in Madison, GA, until he retired. He went back to work part-time with the Union Recorder in Milledgeville, GA, and then with the Coleman’s Store in White Plains, GA.
In 1978, Henry married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Hill, and to their union, they had two beautiful daughters. Henry was preceded in death by his late daughter, Temeice Vonsheri Davis, father, Ernest C. Davis, mother, Lillie Harper Davis, two brothers, Johnny (Bobby) Davis and Eddie Davis, one sister, Irene Cooper.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Shirley A. Hill; daughter, Sonya Denise (Anthony) Reese of Putnam, GA; son, LaRico (Martesa) Davis of Milledgeville, GA; three grandchildren, Madisyn Hooks, Dontavious Waller, and Gabriella Davis of Milledgeville, GA; one brother, Raymond (Vanessa) Davis of Milledgeville, GA; two brothers-in-law, Joel (Juanita) Kemp of Sparta, GA, and Vachel (Deborah) Kemp of Augusta, GA; four sisters-in-law, Teresa (Starlisha) Kemp of Augusta, GA, Julia Mae Davis of Milledgeville, GA, Lithemae Davis of Sparta, GA, and Gloria Davis of Milledgeville, GA; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends; he also left behind two special friends, Janice Reeves and Alma C. Brown of Sparta, GA, whom he thought of as a sister.
