Helen (Wilson) Hunt

On October 14, 1945, Helen was born to the parentage of the late James “Chick” Wilson and Mamie Love Sinkfield Wilson.

Helen married the love of her life, her sweetheart, Mr. Richard Allen Hunt, on March 17, 1986.

She received her education in the school system of Hancock County. She was definitely not one to take her education lightly as she received numerous certifications and a master’s degree. Her love for people was displayed during her tenure as an educator in Hancock and Putnam County school systems and as a social worker for Hancock County DFACS. Helen was a pioneer within the community while being a very integral part of many organizations that were truly dear to her heart.

On Sunday, December 29, 2024, Helen answered the Lord’s call as she transitioned from labor to reward.

Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Mamie Wilson; a brother, Willie B. Wilson; a daughter, Gloria J. Thomas; a son-in-law, Donald F. Dargan; one of her BEST FRIENDS, Clara Alexander; and other family and friends.

Loving and fond memories will FOREVER be cherished by: her Superman, Mr. Richard A. Hunt of Sparta, GA; sons, Melvin (Linda) Washington of Morrow, GA, and Rogers B. Washington of Conyers, GA; daughters, Rita (Demetreus) Rhodes and Latreshia Hunt (Amos Harper), both of Sparta, GA; brothers, William J. (Betty) Wilson of Atlanta, GA, and Johnny C. and Fredrick Wilson, both of Sparta, GA; among her grands and greatgrands, her extra spoiled heartstrings, Rogers, Montee, Nikari, Austin, and Kaisyn; a sisterin-law, Calanthia Flood of Chester, PA; a brother-in-law, George Hunt of Sparta, GA; an aunt, Louise Flood of Lithonia, GA; uncles, Louis Sinkfield of Mesena, GA, and Cleveland (Eddye) Sinkfield of Decatur, GA; two of her VERY BEST FRIENDS, Martha J. Smith and Elois Cobb, both of Sparta, GA; a longtime friend, Sistie G. Hudson of Sparta, GA; extended family, Jonathan Smith of Logansville, GA, Effie Bundrage of Monroe, GA, Richard (Isabell) Smith and Marcus Smith, both of Sparta, GA, Eric (Ngozi) Kemp of Milledgeville, GA, and Kim (Lonnie) Harper of Sparta, GA; a daughter-in-law, Calpurnia F. Washington of Sparta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
