Harvey Jr was born January 24, 1938, in Sparta, Georgia to the parentage of the late Harvey Grant, Sr. and Ethel Lawson Walker.
He got his education in Sparta, Georgia and worked a long time to provide for his family. He joined New Beulah Baptist Church at an early age.
He married Gradie Mae Grant and to this union were born four children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gradie Mae Grant; two sisters, Sallie Lou Harris and Callie Williams.
one brother, Bobby Hillman. Harvey Jr was a man that would help anybody and got along with everybody.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Bonnie (Daniel) Reynolds of Sparta, Georgia; three sons, Horace Grant of California, Harvey (Tonya) Grant, III of Baltimore, Maryland, and Hershell Grant of Roanoke, North Carolina; three sisters, Betty Shorter of Sparta, Georgia, Jeanette (Donald) Jones of Covington, Georgia and Mary Lee Clayton; twenty-one grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Mae Horton of Sparta, Georgia; two other brothers-in-law, Benjamin Lawson and Odell Williams of Sparta, Georgia; one God-daughter, Angela Robinson of Sparta, Georgia; two God-sons, Bobby Robinson of Warrenton, Georgia and Mac Thomas of Sparta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
