Our beloved Emma Lee “MOTT” Wheeler was born to the proud parents of the late Guy Edward Wheeler, Sr., and Ethel Hunt Wheeler, and from their union, five more children were born, three of whom preceded her in death, Lillie Ruth Wheeler Lamar, Deacon Guy Edward Wheeler, Jr., and Deacon Leo Wheeler. She was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Early Lamar and Deacon Milton Thomas, Sr.
At an early age she joined Archer Grove Baptist Church and was a faithful member and the mother of the church. MOTT had a sweet, humble spirit and a heart of gold.
She was employed by the Hancock County Board of Education until her retirement.
"MOTT" as she was affectionately called leaves to cherish her precious memories and life, legacy, with love to her two loving and devoted sisters, Rosa Mae Wheeler Crayton and Rowena Wheeler Thomas, both of Sparta, GA; one sister-in-law, Betty Jean Worthen Wheeler, also of Sparta, GA; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of other family, co-workers, neighbors, and friends.
