Earnest James Heath, lovingly known as “String Bean” and “Count Dracula”, entered into eternity on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at his home in Norwood, Georgia. He was born to the late Walter and Virginia Heath on March 4, 1932, in Norwood, Georgia. Earnest held family in high esteem, enjoying ten siblings and a very large extended family.
Earnest was employed for over twenty five years as a master controlman at Martin Marietta’s Camak Quarry, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed gardening and sports, especially golf and his main man, Woods. He was also a master pool player, well-known to halls in both Warrenton and Miami, Florida where he lived several years.
Earnest leaves to cherish his memory, a long-time companion, Lucille Hampton of Norwood, Georgia; two daughters, Audra (James) Nelson of Dalzell, SC, and Jennifer Jones of Grovetown, GA; four brothers, Val (Mary) Heath of Clinton, MD, Thomas Heath, Columbia, SC, Edward (Mozella) Heath of Decatur, GA, and Eugene Heath of Decatur, GA; six grandchildren, Octavia, Jasmine, Kelvin, Nicole, Kayla, and Ladrece; nine great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, as well as numerous loving relatives and friends.
