Dexter Barnette Nash, 58, of Sparta, Georgia, passed away on March 31, 2025.
Born on June 28, 1966, Dexter was the son of Elma Tilley Nash Harper and the late Benjamin Nash. He attended Hancock Central High School and, after graduating, pursued a career with the Department of Juvenile Justice in Milledgeville, Georgia, where he later became a supervisor.
Dexter was a loving and caring person who found joy in spending time with his family. The moments he shared with his children and grandchildren were the most precious to him. He also had a special love for fried chicken, a simple pleasure that always brought him happiness.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Arturo Nash.
Dexter leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Elma Harper; his children, Shantella Brown, Lacresha Hewins, Demetrius Hewins, and Montavious Nash Sr.; his grandchildren, Nykerra Hunt, Randrekus Brown, Sa’Riyah Gladdin, Karmorrius Hunt, Azaria Tucker, Jarvis Wright Jr., and Montavious Nash Jr.; and Lentevious Hargrove his brothers, Keith Nash and Robin Nash; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. And the mother of his three loving children’s Telisa Brown.
Dexter’s kindness, dedication to family, and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
