Demetris DeShon Chapple was born on January 17, 1979 in Augusta, GA to the parentage of Patricia Chapple and the late Jesse Bryant. He spent most of his childhood learning from those around him about everything and anything related to automobiles. “Worm,” as he was affectionately called by those closest to him, was a hardworking man. He never encountered a job too large or too small. No matter the task, he was ready and able to handle it.
On July 8, 2024, Worm answered the call and entered Heaven’s gates after a long bout with his health. Demetris was a loving, jovial soul who loved his family and friends, but his greatest love was cars, trucks, and anything with a motor. His kind spirit and love for racing will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Worm was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather, Ceiland Bryant and Lucilus Chapple.
Demetris is survived by his mother, Patricia Chapple, and his son, Dae’King Chapple both of Sparta, GA; three brothers, Recardo D. Moody and Jamarius (Ari) Kindle, both of Milledgeville, GA, and Jesse (Shaedaryl) Bryant, Jr. of Columbia, SC; one sister, Sarina Mickle of Columbia, SC; grandmother, Katie Chapple; great-grandmother Eula M. Chapple, both of Sparta, GA; three aunts, Gloria (Charles) Teemer, Joann Bryant, both of Sparta, GA; and Evonne Ross of Columbia, SC; two uncles, Mario (Tokisha) Chapple and Dennis (Sherry) Brown, both of Sparta, GA; six nieces, and three nephews; a devoted first cousin, Ma”Chal Teemer; god-daughter, Alexis Battle, a host of relatives, acquaintances, and reliable friends, including LeRone Hawkins, Kabarius Clayton, Melvin Worthen, Gregory Ingram, and David Hargrove. He also leaves to cherish his fond memories, devoted, loyal longtime friends: Lashonda Chapple and Shanese Goodman.
