David “D-Dawg” Dawson was born on November 8, 1961, to the parentage of T.C. Dawson and the late Katherine Dawson.
He was a native of Warren who attended Warren County High School, graduating with the class of 1981. He married Shelia Mathis on August 28, 1999. With this union, he gained three children. He was an electrician by trade.
David was a loving, gentle giant with a quiet spirit. He was a dedicated, hardworking, and dependable guy who loved and mastered his craft. He always went that extra mile when you incorporated his help. Heaven has truly gained an angel.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Dawson, and brothers, Johnny C. Dawson and Willie Henry Dawson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his father, T.C. Dawson; wife, Shelia MathisDawson; two daughters, Brittany Bray of Thomson, GA, and Eddessia Bray of Warrenton, GA; one son, Kerviante Morse of Warrenton, GA; grandchildren, Demauri Bray of Thomson, GA, and Lalah Williams of Thomson, GA; sisters, Lillie (Al) Freeman of Atlanta, GA, Mae Lizzie (Ronnie) Kemp, Dorothy Mae Kendricks, Beatrice Kemp, Velma (Stacy) Barksdale, and Gladys (Nathaniel) Britt, all of Warrenton, GA, and Mary (Kent) Gant of Dearing, Georgia; brothers, Eddie (Barbara) Dawson and Willie (Agnes) Dawson, all of Warrenton, GA, Lorenzo (Debra) Dawson of Hinesville, GA, and Leroy Dawson of Atlanta, GA; in-laws, Mr. George (Rev. Rose) Reynolds; three sisters-in-law, Gloria (Charlie) Burley of Warrenton, GA, Lillie (Charlie) Harris of Warrenton, GA, and Betty Gilliam of Warrenton, GA; three brothers-in-law, Mr. Micheal (Burnette) Mathis of Columbia, SC, Mr. Jimmy Mathis of Warrenton, GA, and Mr. Julian Battle of Warrenton, GA; as well as nephews, nieces, and many loving friends
