“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul.” Psalm 23:1-3
Mother Clara Mae Heath, age 91, was born on July 13, 1931, to the late Mr. Charlie Wicker, Sr., and Mrs. Subelia Pitts Wicker. On May 16, 2023, the Lord entered into the room at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia, saying, “My child, well done your work here is done and it’s time to rest!”
She accepted Christ at an early age at Greenwood Baptist Church in Norwood, Georgia. Mother Clara loved her family and she enjoyed cooking for them. While she never worked, she was always busy cooking, gardening, cleaning, and caring for her precious children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, the late Moses Z. Heath, Sr., and five siblings, Gus Wicker, Charlie Wicker, Jr., Annie Ruth Castleberry, Ida Mae Burley, and Willie James Wicker.
She married the late Moses Z. Heath, Sr., on December 17, 1952, and from this union seven children were born: Mary Helen (Curtis) Jackson of Thomaston, GA, Moses (Carolyn) Heath, Jr., of Norwood, GA; Pauline (Calvin) Hubert of Carrollton, GA, Charlie (Irene) Heath of Norwood, GA, Terrell (Janice) Heath of Norwood, GA, Willie (Lowonder) Heath of Norwood, GA, and Barbara Puriefoy of Sharon Hill, PA. She also leaves to cherish her memory: siblings, Mrs. Mary Alice Dotson and Mrs. Louise Woods, both of Warrenton, GA, Lizzie M. Seals and Mrs. Lucille (Vernon) Swint, both of Carrollton, GA, Mr. George Wicker of Atlanta, GA, and Mr. Nebraska Wicker of Carrollton, GA; twenty-four grandchildren; and a host of great-grands, nieces, and nephews.
