Chemberly Jordan

Dawson’s Mortuary announces the passing of Ms. Chemberly Jordan, of Lithonia, Georgia. We extend our deepest condolences to the family during this time of sorrow. 

Chemberly Nicole Jordan, better known as “CJ”, born on January 11, 1990, in Atlanta, Georgia, was called to her eternal home on November 22, 2025.

Chem accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia.

During her younger years, Chem joined the Dekalb County Sheriff and Fire Rescue Academy. She was also a member of The Atlanta Falcons Junior Cheerleading Team. After graduating from Miller Grove High School, she attended Everest Medical Institute, where she graduated as a Medical Assistant. She continued her education at Pro-Way Hair School in Stone Mountain, Georgia and became a Licensed Barber/Cosmetologist.

Chem was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nancy B. Brown; grandfather, James Jordan, Sr.; aunt, Catherine Brown; and stepsister, Andanae Gates.

Chemberly is survived by her loving parents, Tracy Michelle Brown, James Jordan, Jr. (Vonzella); her brother, Christopher A. Black; grandmother, Dorothy Jordan; stepsister, Quintera Bailey (Dr. Joe); stepbrothers, Semaj Fulton and Jayden Jordan; uncles, William Brown, Reverend Stanley Brown (Barbara), and Nicholas Jordan (Emelda); aunt, Angela Brown; godsister, Brittany Grayer-Wyatt (Chevalus); godparents Deacon Hilrie Mitchell and Sarah S. Mitchell, and a host of cousins and friends.

Chemberly’s kindness, generosity, and love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She believed in building, not only structures, but also relationships and memories that would stand the test of time. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and unwavering faith in God
