Chavez Montel Smith was born to the parentage of Eric Smith and Lisa Cummings on November 4, 1992 in Milledgeville, Georgia. Chavez attended school in the Hancock County School System.
Chavez affectionately called “Vez” was a loving father and son. Chavez loved riding his dirt bike and spending time with his family and friends. Chavez worked at Trojan Battery and DHL Warehouse. He was recently on the waiting list to attend Truck Driving School at Central Georgia Technical College. Chavez also loved to cook and wanted to start a business (Trap Kitchen). Chavez lived his best life by being outgoing, loving, and free spirited.
On April 13, 2021, he went to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Madeline Simmons of Devereux, GA; grandfather, James Stephens of Devereux, GA; and uncles, Ronald Smith of Milledgeville, GA; and Undra Smith of Devereux, GA.
His memories will be cherished by his son Zaiden Smith of Sparta, GA; parents, Eric Smith and Lisa Cummings (Henry) of Devereux GA; sister, Alexia Cummings of Devereux, GA; sister Kemara Fraley of Milledgeville, GA; grandparents, Tommie and Mary Holsey of Devereux, GA; uncles, Tommie Holsey Jr.(Lorene) of Devereux, GA; Ricky Holsey(Shelia) of Jonesboro, GA; Tyrone Holsey of Devereux, GA; Dennis Holsey(Petula) of Devereux, GA; Cedrick Simmons of Sebring, Florida; aunts, Brenda(James) G. Smith of Athens, GA, Priscilla Hill(Gary) of Devereux, GA; Bobbie Brown(William) of Devereux, GA; and Kimberly Holsey of Milledgeville, GA; special friend, Aaliyah Morris of Sparta, GA, and a host of loving cousins and friends who will greatly miss ‘Vez’ smile and charm.
