Thank You
Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent those beautiful flowers, that we saw sitting there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say.
Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day.
Whatever you did to console our hearts we thank you so much for whatever part.
The family of Charles Hall
Charles “Duke” Hall—humble, intelligent, talented, independent, and proud—was born on February 2, 1953, to the late Charlene Hall and Willie James Burley. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Antonio G. Hill; his brothers, Alton Cowins and Timothy Burley; his sister, Willie Mae Dawson; and his son-in-law, Craig Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Crissy Brown; daughter-in-law, Felicia Hill; brothers and sisters: James Ivery (Dorothy) of Brooklyn, NY; Bessie Ivey; Rhonda (Melvin) Clark; Milton (Deloris) Hall; and Melvin Burley, all of Warrenton, GA; Willie Gene (Alice) Burley of Augusta, GA; and Irma (Tommy) Penn of Lizella, GA.
He also leaves seven grandchildren: Chanice Brown, Jacqueline Brown, Kayla Brown, Omari Brown, Amir Hill, Ayden Hill, and Ambria Wingfield.
In addition, he is survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews; a special brother and friend, Ernest “Dupree” Moore; and his devoted Warren County High School Class of 1972 classmates.
A proud graduate of Warren County High School, Class of 1972, Charles “Duke” Hall possessed spectacular athletic abilities in multiple sports. He was known as one of the greatest athletes ever to wear the WCHS uniform, excelling in football, basketball, and track.
Charles “Duke” Hall was also a proud US Military Veteran, honorably serving his country with dedication and pride. Nicknamed “The Duke” for good reason, he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this time of sorrow.
