The Life and Legacy
Bobby Grant “Big B” was born on August 9, 1957, in Sparta, Georgia to the late Mr. Quinton and Ida Mae Grant. He was raised in Sparta, Georgia and attended Hancock Central High School. Bobby relocated to Atlanta in 1981 to further his career as a mechanic. There he found his passion for truck driving as he began his career for Colonial Baking Company. He returned home in 1986 to marry the love of his life and best friend Rosa Grant. They moved to Atlanta where he began his truck driving career for the next 28 years. After retirement he relocated back to Sparta, Georgia to be closer to family and enjoy the retired life of (The Go-To Mechanic), bobby had a great passion for fishing an old school cars.
Bobby leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 38 years Rosa Grant, four children; Leka Battle, Bobby Battle Jr. (Twan), Undrae Battle (Hit), and Tatnia Whitehead, seven brothers Quinton (Lavern) Grant Jr, Linton (Yvonne) Grant, Thomas Grant, Jefferey Grant, William Culver, Sampson (Tye) Grant, Bill Culver and H. Grant one sister, Rosie Mae Butts, fourteen grandchildren; Dominic Franklin ,Kiara Starks, Jasmine Sullivan, Trevion Starks, Djuana Vains, Deshawn Franklin, Deyana Vains, Latisha Long, Koda Battle, Aiden Foster, Undriya Battle, Undrae Battle Jr., Brandon Battle, three great grandchildren; Deontay Sullivan, Amar’e Smith and Tariyah Jackson, one aunt Martha Walker, one uncle William Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Bobby was full of wisdom and knowledge and maintained a special bond with anyone he encountered. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a family man and will truly be missed and forever loved.
