Bevelyon Lynn Watkins, affectionately known to many as “Jet Black,” was born on September 28, 1964, and transitioned peacefully on April 22, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jimmy and Bessie Lynn of Sparta, Georgia.
Bevelyon attended school in Hancock County and later obtained her GED. She was known as the life of the party and a talented chef in the kitchen, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went.
She was a devoted mother to two beautiful children, Jamicia Lynn Lewis (Josquarn) and Racquel Berry. She was also a proud grandmother of three grandchildren: Josquarn Jr. (“Book”), Dasia, and Hakeem (“Bookie”), and two great-grandchildren, Kayson (“Lil Lowe”) and Sijahn (“2G”), who brought immense joy to her life.
Bevelyon is survived by her siblings: Bernadette Lynn, Fairlie (Tiffany) Lynn, and Shaqueesha Lynn, all of Sparta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Josephine Lynn Walker and Jerry Lynn.
She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was also dearly loved by her bonus family: Robert Berry; Minnie Lamar (affectionately known as “Punkin”); Barbara (Rahann) Reynolds; Larry (Latanya) Lamar; Tonya Waller; Constance Culver; Miranda Edward; and Bobbie Jean Lewis. She also shared a special bond with her very dedicated and dependable cousin, C.S. Deveraux, whom she lovingly called “Darkie.”
Bevelyon’s lighthearted spirit and joyful presence touched everyone she encountered, leaving lasting memories of warmth and happiness. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and the countless lives she impacted with love and kindness.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
