Betty J. Nelson (Turner) gracefully entered into Heaven’s gate on September 10, 2024, at her residence. She was born on January 2, 1954, to the late Linton Bundrage and Della Mae Gladys Turner. Betty graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1972. She dedicated much of her career to various fields, earning her CNA certification and exemplifying a commitment to caring for others.
Betty was a member of Mitchell Chapel AME Church, where she joined at an early age. Her faith was integral parts of her life.
Described as a kind, loving, and caring individual, Betty was the heart of her family gatherings, known for her affectionate smile that could light up any room. She cherished time with family and friends, and her presence was a source of joy and comfort to those around her.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Turner and Marilyn Young, and two brothers, James Turner and Nathaniel Turner.
Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Shabanna Nelson, and son Mario (Chiquitta) Lundy: a sister, Angela (Bruce) Butts; three brothers, Larry (Cathy) Turner, Lester Stembridge and Wilbert Stembridge; one uncle Edward (Maggie) Turner; three grandchildren, Alexis Lundy, LaDarius and Mario Lundy; six great-grandchildren, Braidyn, Brycen and Layla McDonald and JaDarius, Amiyr and Kemarie Lundy, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Betty’s legacy of love, care and joy will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and the warmth of her family.
