Alvin gained his wings on July 16, 2022. He was born the 5th child of the late Robert & Mary Barnes on July 2, 1961. H e w as affectionately known to all as “Al”. Alvin was employed with the Georgia Department of Transportation for 30 years until he retired. He worked several jobs: all caring for people in need of medical assistance, including Excel Home Health Agency and Excel Adult Day Center until his death.
Alvin graduated from high school in 1979. He was a member of Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he joined at an early age. Alvin served on the Usher Board until his death.
He as preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, sister-in-la w, several aunts and uncles and a nephew.
Alvin leaves his precious memories to his sons, Derrieon Barnes and Tavaaaris M. Young, Sr. three grandchildren, Armani Stokes, Arinna T. Young and Trvaris M. Young Jr.; his sibling, two sisters, Mary Pearl Barnes and Glenda Smith, three brothers, Leroy Barnes, Donald (Velma) Barnes, and Marvin Barnes; one Aunt Susie Pearl Blount; best and special friend Catrina Haynes and Shirley Ransom; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
