Clara Joseph of Warrenton, Georgia entered the Church Triumphant on Friday, January 5, 2018.  She was 94 years old.  Born in Warren County, Georgia on February 23rd, 1923, she is the daughter of Della and William Daniel. Clara had five sisters; Annie Ruth Matthews, Allene Hall, Lula Mae Howard, Celestine Suber, and Janie Daniel; she considered Annie Pearl Howard their 6th sister, as Annie Pearl was their cousin who was raised in the family with them. 

A trip to New York City, which was to be a short visit to sister, Janie, resulted in Clara remaining some 50 years in New York and building her life there.  She enjoyed travel and was able to take cruises and trips with friends to fun destinations, such as Canada, Las Vegas, and the Caribbean.  She married James Joseph, who preceded her in death. 

She had a unique bright smile and chuckled laugh with which she greeted you.  Whether in Harlem, New York, or Warrenton, Georgia, people who had a need could come to her knowing that she would help them in any way that she could. She was an active member of her church.  She served as past treasurer of the Missionary Board and she was a stewardess.  She ignited a tradition of tree decoration at Christmas time,

Clara had a great love for children and they loved her.  The children that she cherished are too many to know our name.   We know that the lives of children and young people have been enriched because of her genuine affection on their lives.

A desire of her heart was to build a home for her mother and her sisters.  She gave thanks that through the grace of God, this dream was realized.  After years of providing care for clients as a home health aide, Clara retired from the New York City Department of Social Services and happily moved back to her home in Warrenton.  In retirement, she continued to care for others for as long as she had the ability.  Now it is her turn to rest in God’s care.

She leaves to cherish her memory, 98 year old sister, Janie Daniel of Brooklyn, New York; niece, Mattie Bentley of Brooklyn, New York; niece, Helen Moss of Norwood; Georgia, niece,
