Ronnie Williams

Ronnie Williams, known to most as Root, was born on July 05, 1963, to the late Jim Ivey and Mary Lee Shank in Norwood, Georgia. Surrounded by loved ones at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, Georgia on April 12, 2024, God called him from labor to reward. Root was a man of faith. During his final hours here on Earth, Root had enough strength to acknowledge God and let his family know that God would be with them to comfort them.

Root grew up in Warren County and was reared by his mother and father, the late Mr. Robert Bonner. He was the life of all family events. He loved his family. His presence will truly be missed by all who loved him.

Root was married to Edna Williams of Mitchell, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, 3 brothers, George, Eugene and Julius Williams and his sister, Hattie Rivers along with several aunts and uncles whom he loved dearly.

Root’s life will be cherished and remembered by his 2 daughters, Mary Williams of Crawfordville, Georgia and Tequillia Evans of Warrenton, Georgia; 1 son, Ronnie Williams, Jr. of Crawfordville, Georgia; 7 grandchildren, Jasir Rollins, Ronnie Williams, III, KeMonte Williams, KeMarious Williams, Jada Moore, Jayla Evans and Varijah Andrews; 3 sisters, Laura Williams, Lois Burnette and Robin Bonner of Warrenton, Georgia; 4 brothers, Melvin Shanks of Atlanta, Georgia, Frank Williams (Carolyn) and Jimmy Williams of Warrenton, Georgia and Jimmie Curtis of Lawrenceville, Georgia, 1 brother in love, Lewis Rivers of Warrenton, Georgia; 1 sister in love, Idell Williams 1 aunt, Susie Bonner, Warrenton, Georgia; a devoted friend of many years, Linda Parker of Union Point, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
