Joseph Harper

Mr. Joseph Harper was the youngest son of the late Mr. Wilbert Harper, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Ida Lanier Harper. Joseph departed this life on April 25, 2019 at the Navicent Health Center in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was born July 10, 1958 in Hancock County. He was educated in the Hancock County School System and graduated in 1977. Joseph joined Hunt’s Chapel A.M.E. Church at a young age and gave his life to Christ. He remained an active member until his health started failing.

In 1997 he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Rosetta Clayton Harper. He worked as a Material Handler in Distribution until he had health issues.

Joseph was preceded in death by several siblings, Wilbert Harper Jr, Ethel Clinton, Buerina Lampley, Nathaniel Harper, William Harper, Jimmy Harper, Willie Lee Harper, David Harper, Lovick Harper Sr., Frank Harper, and Roosevelt Harper.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife ,Mrs. Rosetta Clayton Harper; mother-in-law, Mrs. Aretha Clayton; sisters, Elnora Harper, Daisy Mosley, and Lucy Warren of Chester, PA, Mary  L. Harper of Covington, Georgia, and Mae Julia (Ulysses) Lundy of Sparta, Georgia;  brother, Jesse (Kathy) Harper of Sparta, Georgia;. brother-in-law Timothy Clayton of Sparta, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
