The sunrise for Mr. Hornsby Lee Brown, Jr., the baby boy, emerged from the union of the late Mr. Hornsby Brown, Sr., and Mrs. Pauline Hawkins Brown. He was born July 25, 1973, and raised in Warrenton, Georgia. He graduated from Warren County High School. Hornsby accepted Jesus into his life at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, serving as a faithful member following in the footsteps of his father. Hornsby (Big Cat) later moved his membership to New Beulah Baptist Church in Sparta, Georgia, where he meet the love of his life, Ms. Gloria Jones. Hornsby Brown later got ordained to The Deacon Board and served as a loyal and faithful deacon.
He was employed at Georgia Pacific in Madison, Georgia for many years. Later, he moved his employment to the wood/timber industry in Eatonton, Georgia, where he worked diligently for over 10 years as a grader.
Hornsby (Big Cat) was preceded in death by his father, Hornsby Lee Brown, Sr.
Hornsby’s (Big Cat) memories will be cherished by: his loving, caring, devoted wife, Mrs. Gloria Jones Brown of Sparta, Georgia; loving mother, Mrs. Pauline Hawkins Brown; three children, daughter, Courtney Wright, and two sons, Devon (Bianca) Walls of Warrenton, Georgia and Camiel Lawrence of Honolulu, Hawaii; six stepchildren, Levar Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, Simeyon Jones of Sparta, Georgia, Nidia (Horatio) Myrick of Atlanta, Georgia, Alexis Jackson Zephir of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Akeem Jackson and Chikeeda Jackson, both of Atlanta, Georgia; one grandson, Mason Ballard of Warrenton, Georgia; two sisters, Wylene (Douglas) Mills of Warrenton, Georgia and Tracie (Patrick) Turman of Thomson, Georgia; one brother, Tony (Michelle) Brownof Atlanta GA; one aunt, Paula (Eddie) Merriweather; one uncle, Alton Hawkins (Shapper); sisters-in-law, Bernestine (Micheal) Morris, Patricia Jones, and Valeria (Ronnie) Miller, all of Sparta, Georgia; five brothers-in-law, Douglas (Bernice) Jones, Matthew Jones, Charles (Cielo) Jones, and Stanley (Velvette) Jones, all of Sparta, Georgia, and Paul Jones of White Plains, Georgia; and a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives.
